Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage the company’s human resource function by ensuring effective recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, and HR administration. The role is responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent while fostering a compliant, high-performing, and employee-focused workplace that supports the organization’s operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and performance management.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs, attendance, leave management, and HR records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws, statutory requirements, and company HR policies.
  • Develop and coordinate training, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement, welfare, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, prepare management reports, and support audits and compliance reviews.
  • Partner with department heads to provide HR support, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the HR team while driving continuous improvement in HR processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Education and Professional Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
  • Professional HR qualification or certification from a recognized professional body is required.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) or a relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ progressive Human Resource experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
  • Experience in the travel and transport industry is highly preferred. Candidates with experience in FMCG, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, logistics, or other multi-branch operations are also encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, employment regulations, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applications will be an added advantage.
