Role Overview
This position is the operational backbone of the HR function across CEWA, translating the regional and GAID people agenda into outcomes that actually land locally. Day to day, the role holder juggles employee lifecycle administration, payroll and compliance coordination, engagement and early careers programming, and high-touch executive support for the General Manager and the local leadership team. It matters because the function depends on someone keeping Centres of Excellence, People Services, external vendors, and local leaders moving in step — so that decisions taken centrally reach employees cleanly and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the local coordination and escalation point for employee and manager matters that need local context, compliance input, or sign-off from the HR Director.
- Run the employee lifecycle end to end — onboarding, probation milestones, contract issuance, offboarding, personnel records, and documentation governance.
- Pull together and validate payroll inputs, manage statutory documentation, drive timely resolution of discrepancies, and keep payroll providers, Finance, and People Services on schedule.
- Handle reward activity in partnership with the Reward team, including compensation and benefits queries, data coordination, and local implementation of approved changes.
- Coordinate global mobility, immigration, and expatriate support alongside external providers and internal stakeholders.
- Support engagement, wellbeing, culture, values, and internal communication initiatives, and organise local events, recognition moments, CSR activities, and on-site logistics for people programmes.
- Own employer branding and early careers activity — university relationships, career fairs, internship programmes, and the onboarding experience for early talent.
- Liaise with CoEs, People Services, and regional/global HR teams on specialist input, process execution, escalations, policy alignment, and system updates, and support local delivery of global programmes such as performance cycles, engagement surveys, system rollouts, and capability building.
- Track service experience, escalation themes, and process gaps, and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, governance, and the employee experience.
- Deliver executive coordination for the GM and local leadership team: leadership calendars, meeting logistics, briefing packs, presentations, reports, and leadership communications prepared to a consistently high standard.
- Plan executive visits, town halls, business reviews, and leadership events end to end, managing stakeholders throughout and handling sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Coordinate HR vendors, purchase orders, invoices, and service providers, and oversee front office and facilities support including reception standards, visitor management, office services, workplace readiness, and vendor follow-up.
- Manage logistics for training, leadership visits, engagement activities, and HR-led business forums, and embed improvements through standardised SOPs, trackers, and templates.
