Your work directly supports the organisation’s commitment to high service standards and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily organisation and management of hospitality services, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently in your assigned area (housekeeping, kitchen, or service).
- Conduct on-the-job coaching and demonstrations for junior staff, helping them master standard procedures and improve their skills.
- Supervise shift teams by assigning duties, monitoring attendance, and providing real-time feedback to maintain service quality.
- Evaluate staff performance regularly, documenting strengths and areas for development to support annual appraisals.
- Inspect work areas to ensure conformity with established hygiene, safety, and service standards set by the organisation.
- Participate in menu review cycles, suggesting adjustments based on guest feedback, ingredient availability, and cost considerations.
- Carry out a yearly training needs assessment for the team, identifying skill gaps and recommending targeted learning interventions.
- Enforce the use of standard operating procedures in all tasks, from room preparation to food service, to ensure consistency and compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Catering Management, Hotel and Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or Hospitality Management from a university recognised in Kenya.
- No prior work experience required – this is an entry-level training grade designed for fresh graduates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests, supervisors, and team members.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping, kitchen operations, or front-of-house service principles gained during degree studies.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as dictated by hospitality schedules.
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to different operational areas within the establishment.
