Job Summary
The Site Health & Safety Intern will facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and advise on minimizing hazards or unhealthy situations in upcoming projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance and Hazard Control
- Ensuring proper use of PPEs by workers while conducting monitoring on compliance.
- Raising daily concerns from issues on-site that may pose potential hazards.
Housekeeping and Record Keeping
- Maintaining records of safety inventories.
- Eliminating physical hazards through the maintenance of good housekeeping.
- Responsible for keeping a daily record of workers/employees on site on a daily basis.
Report Writing
- Writing daily, weekly safety and health reports or injury logs and submitting them to the Health and Safety officer.
- Daily reporting of site compliance, incidents, and accidents.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Certifications (preferred): Basic training in either First Aid or Fire Safety will be an added advantage. NEBOSH certificate will be an added advantage.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Proven/prior competency in handling safety/health aspects in a construction site.
- Skills: Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
