Role Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber, commercially astute Head of Finance to direct our comprehensive financial landscape and drive long-term corporate sustainability. In this executive capacity, you will assume full accountability for fiscal operations, statutory frameworks, risk containment, and cross-departmental capital deployment. This position bridges meticulous regulatory compliance with forward-looking corporate strategy; you will champion everything from daily general ledger oversight and KRA tax audits to high-level budgetary forecasting and liquidity optimization. The role demands an inspiring finance leader who understands the velocity of the FMCG distribution sector and can translate complex financial telemetry into decisive, growth-focused business actions.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Executive Reporting & Statutory Governance

• Formulate and present comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintaining flawless alignment with standard accounting principles.

• Manage all corporate interactions with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), taking full charge of filing and auditing for VAT, PAYE, and corporate income taxes.

• Enforce absolute institutional alignment with all local statutory laws, certifying timely deductions and remittances to NSSF, NHIF, and related government authorities.

Operational Accounting & Liquidity Management

• Oversee all daily ledger functions, including accounts payable, receivables administration, corporate payroll, and fixed-asset accounting.

• Architect and implement dynamic cash flow management strategies to maintain optimal operational liquidity across distribution routes.

• Refine corporate credit evaluation guidelines and collection policies to optimize working capital and systematically mitigate bad debt exposure.

Budgetary Architecture & Business Forecasting

• Spearhead the construction of the annual corporate budget and long-range financial forecasts in tight coordination with overall company goals.

• Monitor real-time budget execution, performing granular variance analyses to provide leadership with actionable interventions.

• Serve as the principal link for external auditors, legal tax consultants, banking institutions, and external financial service partners.

Internal Controls & Human Capital Elevation

• Establish, monitor, and update strict internal control protocols to secure company assets and eliminate operational data errors.

• Direct periodic internal checkups and process audits to verify systemic compliance and optimize departmental cost-efficiencies.

• Mentor, train, and manage the finance department, nurturing a high-performance culture focused on precision, integrity, and regulatory updating.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

• Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent numerical discipline. An MBA is highly valued.

• Professional Certifications: Active corporate certification (CPA-K, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.

• Professional Mileage: Minimum of 8 years of progressive corporate finance experience, with at least 3 years spent serving in a definitive managerial or leadership position.

• Regulatory Fluency: Complete operational grasp of Kenyan tax laws, KRA system operations, and local labor-related statutory mandates.
