We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and health of our outdoor spaces, including lawns, flower beds, trees, and hedges. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure a clean, safe, and well-manicured environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, flower beds, trees, and hedges.
- Water plants and manage irrigation systems.
- Plant, prune, and replace vegetation as required.
- Control weeds, pests, and plant diseases.
- Apply fertilizers and manure to support plant growth.
- Keep the compound clean through sweeping, waste collection, and disposal.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
- Monitor plant health and report any issues.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Support landscaping and beautification projects.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum qualifications:
- KCSE certificate; horticulture training is an added advantage.
- Aged between 25–35 years.
- Valid National ID; Certificate of Good Conduct is an added advantage.
Key competencies:
- Ability to maintain lawns, flowers, trees, and hedges.
- Skilled in the use of gardening tools and equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, slashers).
- Knowledge of plant care, soil management, and pest control.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of irrigation and water management.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices (use of protective gear, safe chemical handling).
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, disciplined, and able to work independently or in a team.
