Role Overview
You will provide essential operational support to the pre-litigation personal injury team, carrying out the daily administrative tasks that keep client files moving toward resolution. Your work helps case managers stay focused on strategy while you handle the insurance, medical, and document coordination that underpins a successful settlement outcome. This position is central to ensuring clients receive timely care and that their claims are built on complete, accurate evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate claims with auto insurance carriers, health insurance lien/subrogation departments, and third-party medical coverage programs.
- Request police reports, medical records, and billing documentation, then proactively follow up until every item is received.
- Schedule client medical appointments with approved providers and arrange transportation when needed.
- Confirm outstanding balances with medical providers and maintain accurate records of treatment-related costs.
- Organize and compile complete case files, ensuring all documentation is ready for review by demand writers.
- Monitor claim statuses and update internal case management systems with the latest information.
- Communicate with clients, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve routine issues and keep cases on track.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience as a Case Manager, Case Manager Assistant, or legal assistant specifically within personal injury law (do not apply if your background is limited to intake or front-office phone screening).
- Bachelor’s degree completed or currently in progress, preferably in a legal, pre-law, or medical/health-related field.
- Working knowledge of pre-litigation personal injury workflows, including medical record retrieval and insurance claim submissions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume documentation accurately.
- Clear written and verbal communication when dealing with clients, medical offices, and insurance adjusters.
- Comfort with case management software and standard office tools such as spreadsheets, email, and document management platforms.
