Role Overview
This position sits at the center of the engineering team, where you will design and maintain the backend systems that power our digital products and services. Every day involves writing production-ready code, shaping integration APIs, and automating delivery pipelines so that new features move from commit to deployment smoothly and securely. Your work directly affects system reliability, performance, and the team's ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side services, APIs, and internal tools that support core business functions and user-facing platforms.
- Design and implement RESTful endpoints and third-party integrations, ensuring consistent data flow and error handling across services.
- Embed security best practices into the full development lifecycle, from threat-aware design to secure code reviews and dependency management.
- Diagnose production incidents and defects, perform root-cause analysis, and apply fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to technical architecture conversations around service decomposition, scalability, database choices, and deployment topology.
- Build and refine CI/CD pipelines that automate builds, tests, security scans, and releases across development and production environments.
- Maintain a robust test suite covering unit and integration scenarios, and take part in peer reviews that keep code quality high.
- Work alongside product owners, QA engineers, and platform colleagues to monitor application health and continuously improve operational reliability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience in backend development.
- 2–4 years of professional experience building and maintaining backend applications for enterprise or production-scale environments.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Java, C#, Python, or Node.js, with a solid grasp of its ecosystem and common frameworks.
- Hands-on experience designing and working with REST APIs, plus familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and NoSQL alternatives such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Practical knowledge of containerization and cloud-native deployment, including Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud provider.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code concepts, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments and actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
