Role Overview
This position serves as the central coordination hub for outbound order fulfilment, ensuring that every customer order moves seamlessly from system release to the loading dock. Day to day, you will manage the HighJump WMS to plan vehicle loads, assign pickers, and monitor the entire picking and staging process, acting as the key link between warehouse teams, transport, inventory, and customer service. Your precision directly impacts on-time, accurate deliveries and helps prevent costly errors or delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and prioritise incoming customer orders within the WMS, confirming availability and readiness before releasing them for fulfilment.
- Build efficient load plans by grouping orders into vehicle loads based on route, capacity, and delivery deadlines.
- Release orders to RF scanners for picking, track progress throughout the warehouse, and step in to resolve issues such as short picks, damage, or inventory mismatches.
- Assign pickers to tasks through the system according to zone workload and order size, adjusting assignments in real time to keep workflow balanced.
- Co-ordinate staging operations by verifying that all picked pallets are correctly labelled, staged in the right location, and ready for loading.
- Produce and apply pallet labels that include Load ID, customer details, vehicle information, route, dock number, pallet sequence, and barcode.
- Allocate docks for loading, then communicate the vehicle registration, driver name, transporter, and loading schedule to all relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate, real-time WMS records for every step—load creation, picker allocation, staging, dock assignment, and dispatch readiness.
- Troubleshoot exceptions in fulfilment, labelling, vehicle allocation, or WMS transactions, escalating issues that cannot be resolved quickly.
- Generate daily fulfilment status reports and share updates with warehouse, transport, inventory, security, customer service, and dispatch.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least one year of hands-on experience in warehouse fulfilment or outbound logistics operations.
- Proven ability to work with HighJump WMS or an equivalent warehouse management system in a live operational environment.
- Familiarity with RF scanner technology used for picking and inventory transactions.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end warehouse processes, including dispatch and loading workflows.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, plus experience with ERP or WMS reporting tools.
