Finance Intern

Role Overview

As a Finance Intern, you will work alongside our finance team on the everyday tasks that keep our accounting records accurate and our payment cycle running smoothly. Your day-to-day work will involve recording transactions, processing invoices, reconciling accounts and helping prepare the reports and schedules the business relies on for decision-making. This role matters because the accuracy of these records directly affects how well we manage cash flow, pay suppliers on time and keep our financial reporting dependable.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine finance and accounting tasks in support of the wider finance team's daily workload.
• Prepare, organise and file financial documents and records so that information is complete and easy to retrieve.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including matching invoices to supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts and other ledger accounts, flagging discrepancies for review.
• Assist in drafting financial reports and schedules used for internal review and reporting deadlines.
• Handle invoice processing, payment paperwork and systematic document filing.
• Enter financial data accurately and help maintain records that stay current and error-free.
• Take on additional finance-related duties as they arise during the internship.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a closely related discipline.
• Accounting knowledge: A solid grasp of basic accounting and financial principles.
• Technical skills: Confident using Microsoft Office, with particular strength in Excel.
• Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers, where precision matters.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, plus the organisational skills to manage several tasks at once.
• Attitude: A positive, eager-to-learn mindset and a dependable work ethic.
