Finance Intern

Role Overview

This internship places a recent graduate inside a live aviation environment, where you will work alongside experienced colleagues on the day-to-day tasks that keep the business moving. You will be given real responsibilities within the function you are matched to, from handling operational data and documentation to supporting projects and customer-facing activity, rather than observing from the sidelines. The placement exists to build a pipeline of capable early-career talent who understand how a regulated, safety-critical industry actually operates.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the daily workload of your assigned team, completing routine tasks accurately and within agreed timeframes while following established procedures.
• Collect, verify and organise operational or commercial data, then turn it into clear summaries, spreadsheets or short reports for your supervisor.
• Prepare and maintain documentation such as briefings, checklists, records and correspondence, keeping files and systems up to date.
• Coordinate with colleagues in other departments to gather information, resolve queries and keep work flowing between teams.
• Respond to internal and external enquiries in a professional manner, escalating issues that fall outside your remit.
• Observe all safety, security and regulatory requirements that apply to your work area, and speak up about anything that looks unsafe or non-compliant.
• Carry out research or process reviews as directed and document your findings and recommendations.
• Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and present the outcome of your placement project to colleagues at the end of the programme.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, awarded within the past four years.
• Field of study relevant to the internship area you are applying for — for example aerospace or mechanical engineering, aviation management, logistics and supply chain, business, finance, human resources, communications or information technology.
• Additional professional qualifications, certifications or postgraduate study in a related discipline are an added advantage.
• Communication: able to write clearly and explain ideas confidently to colleagues at different levels.
• Teamwork: comfortable collaborating, sharing information and supporting others to meet shared deadlines.
• Learning agility: quick to absorb new systems, terminology and procedures, and receptive to feedback.
• Professionalism: reliable, well organised, discreet with confidential information and punctual in delivering work.
• A demonstrated interest in the aviation industry — through coursework, projects, memberships, volunteering or previous exposure — is an advantage.
