Job Description
Role Overview
The role leads core finance operations across the University, ensuring that financial statements, statutory filings and management reports are accurate and prepared on time. It also coordinates several finance functions and provides analysis that helps University leaders make informed decisions and manage financial risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual University financial statements and other required financial reports.
- Complete and submit statutory returns to the appropriate authorities.
- Develop and maintain a finance department risk matrix, and contribute to the department’s work plan.
- Prepare the finance department procurement plan.
- Supervise day-to-day operations across the cash office, expenditure, student finance and salaries sections.
- Produce management reports and analyse financial data from the department’s various sections to support decision-making.
- Oversee the upkeep of the University’s fixed assets register.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field from a recognised institution.
- CPA III qualification.
- At least four years of experience as an Accountant II or in a comparable role.
- Current membership with ICPAK or another relevant professional body.
- Knowledge of information and communication technology.
