Job Summary
This role is responsible for planning and scheduling all production-related activities for both field and processing operations across three sites in East Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania). The position ensures end-to-end crop plan execution for the region, including crop planting plans, quality testing planning and scheduling, harvest planning and scheduling, delivery planning and scheduling, and processing planning and schedule management.
Detailed Expectations
- Plan and schedule production-related activities across three East African sites with the key objective of creating transparency in the execution of crop plans.
- In liaison with country production leads, ensure accurate crop yield forecasting to achieve 95% crop plan adherence.
- Work with Field Mission teams to develop crop delivery plans and ensure attainment of at least 95% harvest adherence.
- Coordinate on-time field sampling for SNP testing to achieve defined Turn-Around-Time, with results available before harvesting commences.
- In liaison with the in-season planning mission team, coordinate the processing plan and ensure Processing Plan Adherence of at least 95%.
- In liaison with the East Africa procurement lead, ensure all production consumables aligned with the crop forecast are available prior to the production campaign.
- Coordinate KPI reporting for Tier 3 meetings and within S&OP and S&OE processes.
- Work with the Production Warehouse team to ensure seed is moved to finished goods warehouses.
- In liaison with Site Production Coordinators, ensure inventory visibility in SAP.
- Provide weekly reporting of production status, distributed every Monday to all identified stakeholders.
- Maintain planning and scheduling records as required by QMS management systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management systems set by ISO9001:2015.
- Provide information and insights on planning activities.
- Participate in 5WHY problem solving to identify corrective and preventative actions.
- Actively participate in implementing the site safety program, lead ESH efforts, and aid in arranging resources to promote site safety in line with ISO45001 standards.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation and Bayer safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years' experience in seed manufacturing operations and management or planning.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Email, Word, Project, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-focused with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong teamwork skills, including flexibility to work across areas and positively influence others.
- Ability to establish clear direction and make decisions in a timely manner.
- Fluent in English.
- ISO training is desirable.
