Production Planning & Scheduling Manager – East Africa
Job Summary
This role is responsible for planning and scheduling all production-related activities for field and processing operations across three East African sites in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. The position ensures end-to-end crop plan execution for the region, covering crop planting, quality testing, harvest, delivery, and processing planning and schedule management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule production activities across the three sites, creating transparency in crop plan execution.
- Work with country production leads to ensure accurate crop yield forecasting, achieving at least 95% crop plan adherence.
- Develop crop delivery plans with Field Mission teams to attain at least 95% harvest adherence.
- Coordinate on-time field sampling for SNP testing, ensuring defined turnaround time and results availability before harvest.
- Collaborate with the in-season planning mission team to coordinate the processing plan and maintain at least 95% processing plan adherence.
- Liaise with the East Africa procurement lead to ensure all production consumables are available before the production campaign.
- Coordinate KPI reporting for Tier 3 meetings, S&OP, and S&OE processes.
- Work with the Production Warehouse team to ensure seed movement to finished goods warehouses.
- Liaise with Site Production Coordinators to maintain inventory visibility in SAP.
- Deliver weekly production status reports to all identified stakeholders every Monday.
- Maintain planning and scheduling records as required by the QMS management system.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance standards.
- Provide insights and information on planning activities.
- Participate in 5-Why problem solving to identify corrective and preventive actions.
- Actively implement the site safety program, lead environmental, safety, and health (ESH) efforts, and arrange resources to promote site safety in line with ISO 45001.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation and Bayer safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in seed manufacturing operations and management or planning.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-focused with the ability to work independently.
- Strong teamwork skills with flexibility to work across areas and positively influence others.
- Ability to establish clear direction and make timely decisions.
- Fluent in English.
- ISO training is desirable.
