Data Engineer

Role Overview

You will serve as the technical anchor for multiple agile engineering squads, operating within the Software Engineering Centre of Excellence. Your day-to-day work involves shaping solution architecture, setting engineering standards, and steering technical decisions so that software is delivered on time, without compromising on security or scalability. By working closely with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders, you ensure every delivery aligns with both technology strategy and commercial priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering squads through the full lifecycle of enterprise software, from solution blueprints to production release.
• Set and enforce coding standards, security controls, and quality assurance practices across all team deliverables.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans in collaboration with architects and product owners.
• Support sprint planning, delivery estimation, and technical roadmaps to maintain predictable, high-quality output.
• Proactively identify technical risks, cross-squad dependencies, and delivery blockers, and drive them to resolution.
• Promote DevOps adoption, CI/CD automation, and cloud engineering practices within every squad you support.
• Coach developers and engineers on modern engineering methods, improving overall team capability and engineering maturity.
• Contribute reusable frameworks, accelerators, and technical documentation that strengthen the wider Centre of Excellence.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 4–6 years of hands-on software engineering and application development experience, with exposure to enterprise environments.
• Solid expertise in enterprise application architecture, API design, system integration, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Experience owning deliverables across the entire software development lifecycle, from discovery to operations.
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, and competing delivery priorities.
• Relevant technical certifications are an added advantage.
