Cybersecurity Trainer
Salary: KSh 50,000 Gross per month
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging cybersecurity training sessions using practical, hands-on learning approaches.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans, lab exercises, assessments, and training materials aligned with the curriculum and current industry trends.
- Conduct training at the IST campus and client/offsite locations as required.
- Guide, mentor, and support students throughout their learning journey, providing technical assistance, evaluating performance, and offering constructive feedback.
- Administer examinations, supervise practical labs, and maintain accurate student records, attendance, and progress reports.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment while supporting research, innovation, and continuous improvement in cybersecurity training.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years' relevant work experience; prior training or teaching experience is an added advantage.
- Relevant certification(s) such as CompTIA Security+/Network+, CEH, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
- Practical knowledge of network security, ethical hacking, penetration testing, vulnerability management, digital forensics, and incident response.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration, web application security (OWASP Top 10), cryptography, PKI, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks and tools, including NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, the Kenya Data Protection Act, Kali Linux, Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nessus.
