Role Overview
This internship places you at the intersection of finance and enterprise software, where you will learn to implement, configure, and fine-tune ERP financial modules that drive daily accounting operations for business clients. You will spend your days working alongside technical and customer-facing teams, translating financial requirements into system settings, resolving support tickets, and helping users understand how workflows such as invoicing, payments, and ledger postings behave inside the software. The role matters because accurate financial data depends on well-configured systems, and your work will directly influence client trust and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior consultants in setting up and configuring ERP financial modules, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger, according to client-specific accounting rules.
- Perform routine system audits and data validation checks to identify discrepancies, ensuring financial records remain accurate and consistent across modules.
- Respond to finance-related client support tickets by diagnosing issues, proposing practical solutions, and documenting resolutions for future reference.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of live ERP environments by testing new configurations, updating process documentation, and flagging potential risks.
- Prepare and deliver user training sessions that guide clients through day-to-day financial workflows such as month-end closing, bank reconciliation, and expense reporting.
- Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to communicate client feedback and suggest improvements to financial process automation.
- Create and update internal playbooks that capture common configuration steps, troubleshooting tips, and best practices for financial module support.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a directly related business discipline.
- CPA Part I (Section 2) completed or actively in progress, demonstrating a working grasp of core accounting principles.
- Genuine interest in ERP systems and enterprise software; prior exposure to platforms like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite is advantageous.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to trace financial discrepancies back to system configurations or user errors.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to explain accounting workflows to non-financial stakeholders.
- Comfort with learning technical concepts such as data tables, validation rules, and integration points without prior coding experience.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also collaborating effectively in cross-functional project teams.
