Role Overview
This position centres on building a strong corporate client base across Kenya and converting it into a steady stream of high-value event bookings. You will spend your time hunting new B2B relationships, nurturing existing accounts, and positioning our event services as the smart choice for companies hosting conferences, galas, retreats, and product launches. Success here directly drives revenue, so your daily focus is on pipeline development, persuasive pitching, and flawless handovers to the delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue large corporate clients, including multinationals, NGOs, embassies, and public-sector organisations, with the goal of closing long-term or repeat business.
- Lead the full sales cycle for corporate events, MICE groups, incentive trips, retreats, and festive celebrations, from first contact through contract signature.
- Create commercial proposals, presentation decks, and tender responses that clearly differentiate our services and win competitive bids.
- Expand revenue per account by cross-selling catering, audiovisual production, staging, décor, and other event-related services.
- Own the relationship with key corporate and retainer accounts, acting as their main contact and ensuring they return for multiple bookings each year.
- Arrange and conduct site tours, face-to-face client meetings, menu tastings, and concept sessions to convert prospects into confirmed bookings.
- Follow up after every event to measure client satisfaction, resolve any service issues quickly, and gather feedback that protects our reputation.
- Track all leads, calls, contracts, and revenue data in the CRM, and update management with accurate forecasts and sales reports against monthly targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of B2B sales experience within a mid-to-large events company, four-star hotel, or conference venue, preferably in Kenya.
- A credible and active network of corporate decision-makers who can be approached for event business immediately.
- Solid experience in negotiating contracts, structuring commercial terms, and closing high-value deals under pressure.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to communicate at executive level and represent the brand professionally.
- Comfortable working with CRM platforms and the full Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Sharp commercial awareness, with an understanding of local competitor pricing, market trends, and corporate spending behaviour in Nairobi and regional hubs.
- Self-driven, organised, and flexible enough to handle a fast-paced sales environment with shifting priorities.
