Job Summary
We are seeking a commercially driven, analytical Commercial Operations & Cost Control Lead to direct comprehensive factory expenditure controls, material valuation strategies, and profit optimization blueprints across our specialized furniture production and aluminium fabrication plants. Your primary objective is to build rigorous fiscal safeguards over physical production operations, ensuring absolute accuracy in product estimates, structural materials usage, and general warehouse movements. This key organizational loop bridges meticulous factory accounting with active operational management; you will spearhead structural cost investigations, evaluate supplier supply chain options, and directly build standard pricing matrices for high-value custom fit-out orders. The position requires a detail-driven expert with extensive experience handling heavy construction, fit-out, or interior manufacturing operations who can successfully safeguard raw margins without slowing production speeds.
What We Offer
Expense Administration & Margin Safeguards
- Lead all day-to-day commercial cost accounting frameworks across both active production workshops and off-site project installations.
- Engineer, deploy, and monitor specialized operational cost reduction plans to insulate business profits and optimize assembly efficiencies.
- Track operational budgets, review variance profiles between planned and actual outlays, and present corrective courses to clear unexpected overruns.
- Calculate standard unit margins, generate break-even matrices, and deliver thorough margin performance summaries directly to executive lines.
- Support high-level commercial forecasts, annual manufacturing budgets, and rolling corporate cash projection tracks.
Product Estimation & Pricing Models
- Formulate exhaustive, mathematically verified product quotations for architectural aluminium installations and heavy furniture builds.
- Review structural blueprints, materials engineering notes, and customer specifications to establish standard manufacturing expense baselines.
- Build complete Bills of Quantities (BOQs), raw cost breakdowns, and transparent project pricing sheets for active commercial contracts.
- Adjust internal standard unit pricing models continuously to match shifting market realities across various raw wood and metal classes.
- Collaborate on competitive bidding portfolios, organizing structural commercial documentation for high-volume tender requests.
Procurement Sourcing & Vendor Negotiations
- Evaluate competing vendor quotations, performing detailed commercial cost comparisons to locate latent purchasing advantages.
- Lead collaborative vendor pricing reviews to secure discounted commercial rates, extended credit pathways, and favorable trade rules.
- Track external price indexes across critical manufacturing materials, including glass panes, heavy aluminium profiles, MDF boards, hardwoods, and complex fixtures.
- Review supply base capabilities regularly, introducing strategic adjustments to lower broad raw materials expenditure profiles.
Workshop Productivity & Inventory Control
- Establish and scale stable standard costing profiles across every active stock-keeping item manufactured in-house.
- Monitor real-time physical material consumption rates, tracking daily staff labor outputs and overall machine throughput ratios.
- Pinpoint structural resource waste lines across factory floor steps, executing practical process updates to boost output yields.
- Monitor multi-site warehouse stock levels, tracing raw sheets and finished products as they flow through production channels.
- Audit periodic physical stock reconciliations, investigate raw discrepancy profiles, and lead comprehensive warehouse inventory adjustments.
Skills & Experience Required

- Professional Affiliations: Specialized professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIPS, RICS, or equivalent global licensing will be an added advantage.
- Field Longevity: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive, verifiable experience overseeing commercial product costing, quantity surveying practices, or factory expenditure tracking.
- Industrial Specialization: Proven operational track record within a dedicated furniture manufacturing plant, aluminium fabrication workshop, commercial interior fit-out company, or building materials manufacturer.
- Software Mastery: Advanced execution capability inside Microsoft Excel (macros, complex lookup matrices, modeling structures) and corporate ERP platform tracking environments.
Technical Attributes
- Production Literacy: Deep comprehension of production shop floors, industrial material waste tracking, and baseline warehouse management workflows.
- Negotiation Agility: Strong commercial diplomacy skills with a documented capability to extract competitive pricing terms from international material suppliers.
- Detail Orientation: High focus on structural accuracy when reviewing architectural drawings, mechanical specifications, and multi-layered contracts.
Employee Rewards
- Strategic Operational Authority: Take complete operational ownership of the commercial finance architecture within a fast-scaling regional production firm.
