Clearing Clerk

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and process customs clearance documentation for petroleum products and related cargo.
• Lodge loading orders and customs entries with relevant authorities.
• Present documentation to Kenya Revenue Authority for gate pass processing and cargo clearance.
• Coordinate with relevant offices to facilitate smooth truck dispatch and depot operations.
• Verify Bills of Lading (BoL) and relevant documents.
• Track and update shipment and truck dispatch status.
• Liaise with customs officials, transporters, depot staff, and clearing agents.
• Maintain accurate records of customs entries, dispatch documentation, and stock movement.
• Follow up on customs clearance issues to avoid delays, demurrage, and penalties.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, HS codes, tariffs, and petroleum industry procedures.
• Support daily depot and logistics operations.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Clearing & Forwarding or Customs Administration
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Clearing & forwarding, Customs documentation or Depot operations or transport coordination
• Working knowledge of KRA customs procedures, loading and dispatch operations, Customs declaration systems such as iCMS, KenTrade, or ASYCUDA
• Understanding of Bills of Lading, Customs entries and gate pass processing
• Strong computer literacy (MS Office and logistics systems).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• High integrity and professionalism.
