Role Overview
Safarilink Aviation is seeking a Caravan First Officer to fly as second-in-command on Cessna 208B Caravan aircraft. You will support the captain across all phases of flight, from pre-flight preparation and planning through in-flight monitoring and post-flight reporting, while helping uphold safe and professional flight operations. This role matters because it keeps flights coordinated, compliant, and ready to meet the demands of a dynamic aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as second-in-command on Cessna 208B Caravan flights, assisting the captain with the safe and efficient conduct of each mission.
- Carry out thorough pre-flight inspections and confirm the aircraft is airworthy, properly fuelled, and correctly loaded for the planned flight.
- Assist with flight planning by reviewing weather, notices to airmen, route requirements, fuel needs, performance data, and weight-and-balance calculations.
- Monitor aircraft systems, instruments, and navigation throughout the flight while maintaining situational awareness and communicating with air traffic control as required.
- Follow standard operating procedures, aviation regulations, and company manuals during normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
- Maintain clear communication with the captain, operations staff, and passengers to keep everyone informed and coordinated.
- Complete post-flight documentation, logbook entries, and discrepancy reports, and escalate any maintenance or safety concerns through the correct channels.
- Contribute to a professional flight deck culture by demonstrating sound judgement, composure under pressure, and effective crew resource management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Kenyan citizenship.
- Valid Kenyan Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) and Multi-Engine (ME) privileges.
- Multi-engine instrument rating.
- Caravan 208B type rating.
- At least 200 hours of total flight time.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in previous flying or training environments.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with captains, operations teams, and passengers.
- Composure under pressure and the ability to remain calm and focused during demanding or unexpected situations.
- Good planning and decision-making abilities, including the capacity to assess information and act appropriately as part of a crew.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to become part of Safarilink Aviation’s dynamic team as a Caravan First Officer. The airline values pilots who bring integrity, professionalism, teamwork, composure under pressure, and sound planning and decision-making to the flight deck.
