Role Overview
This is a short-term, field-based mentoring role under a two-month contract. You will work directly with technical and vocational learners at their training or work sites, offering practical guidance and helping them apply their skills in real workplace conditions. Your day-to-day focus will be on observing learner performance, providing targeted mentorship, and ensuring that classroom knowledge translates into hands-on competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct regular site visits to observe learners as they carry out practical tasks in the field.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship and on-the-spot coaching to help learners resolve technical challenges.
- Assess learner competence against TVET standards and document individual progress accurately.
- Coordinate with training providers and host employers to keep field experiences aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Give constructive feedback and develop simple action plans that learners can follow between visits.
- Identify common performance gaps and recommend practical solutions that can be applied immediately.
- Submit concise field reports covering learner attendance, progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Solid background in TVET, technical, or vocational training, either as an instructor or as an industry professional with hands-on experience.
- Full availability for a two-month contract, including the flexibility to travel as field visits require.
- Willingness to mentor learners directly in the field, often at remote or dispersed work sites.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with learners from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own travel schedule, and make sound decisions without constant supervision.
- Practical familiarity with tools, equipment, or processes commonly used in vocational trades.
