Job Description

Role Overview

This is a teaching position at Woodcreek School, a role that calls for an educator who can confidently deliver lessons across both the British National Curriculum and the Cambridge framework within a dynamic international school setting. Day to day, you will plan and teach assigned subject areas, monitor student achievement, and actively contribute to a school culture that prizes academic rigour alongside student wellbeing. Your work matters because you will be helping shape young people who are not only academically prepared but also emotionally supported and socially engaged through every part of school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the requirements of both the British National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, using a range of evaluation methods to inform future teaching and to provide meaningful feedback to students and parents.
  • Apply school safeguarding policies consistently, ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, and protected within a watchful and caring environment.
  • Take an active role in pastoral care, acting as a mentor and point of contact for students and supporting their social and emotional development.
  • Lead or assist with co-curricular programmes, including clubs, sports, arts, and other activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a welcoming and co-operative school community.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop curriculum materials, share best practice, and contribute to school-wide events and initiatives.
  • Maintain a well-organised, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discipline, and respect.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as a B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent, along with a relevant degree in a subject you will teach.
  • Strong working knowledge of the British National Curriculum, demonstrated through several years of successful classroom experience.
  • Current or recent experience delivering the Cambridge International Curriculum, including familiarity with its assessment methods and subject content.
  • Prior experience teaching within an international school environment, with an understanding of the needs of a diverse and multicultural student body.
  • A demonstrable commitment to safeguarding, including knowledge of child protection procedures and a willingness to uphold them in all interactions.
  • A genuine interest in pastoral care and co-curricular involvement, with a track record of supporting students beyond academic teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, parents, and teaching teams.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit, with a passion for contributing to the wider life of the school.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is an opportunity to become part of a school community that genuinely values the whole child, where educators are supported to grow professionally while being trusted to make a real difference in students’ lives. You will work alongside like-minded teachers who share a commitment to strong safeguarding, meaningful pastoral care, and rich co-curricular learning, and you will have the chance to shape the experience of students in an international setting.
