Job Description

Role Overview

This position is accountable for building and growing revenue through the broker distribution channel, serving as the primary commercial link between our company and licensed insurance intermediaries. On a daily basis, you will identify, onboard, and support brokers, manage end-to-end quote and renewal activity, and use portfolio data to drive retention and profitable expansion. Your work directly influences the company's market share, broker satisfaction, and the overall performance of our general insurance book.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard new licensed brokers while reactivating dormant accounts to expand the active broker base.
  • Develop and manage a structured sales pipeline, converting leads into binding policies across the full range of general insurance products.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end quotation process, ensuring competitive pricing, accurate underwriting input, and timely submission to brokers.
  • Oversee policy renewals, endorsements, and service delivery, resolving broker and client issues efficiently with internal support teams.
  • Strengthen broker engagement through regular business reviews, product training, and tailored growth plans that increase share of wallet.
  • Monitor and report on channel performance—including premium growth, retention rates, conversion ratios, and profitability—using CRM and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, operations, marketing, risk, and compliance teams to align broker activities with organisational standards and market needs.
  • Implement targeted campaigns and interventions that improve broker productivity, customer experience, and the overall efficiency of the channel.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • A professional insurance qualification such as CII, ACII, or AIIK is mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of experience in insurance or financial services, with a minimum of 3 years in business development, account management, or channel sales.
  • Proven track record of managing insurance brokers and delivering measurable growth in premium income, retention, profitability, and broker share of wallet.
  • Sound understanding of general insurance products, underwriting principles, broker distribution models, policy administration, claims processes, premium collection, and intermediary compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis or reporting tools used for pipeline tracking and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sales analytics and market insight to improve conversion rates, partner productivity, retention, and campaign return on investment.
  • Experience working effectively across underwriting, product, claims, operations, marketing, risk, compliance, and external partner organisations.
