Role Overview
This role is about turning Nairobi’s fragmented property ownership market into a steady stream of managed buildings for an established real estate firm in the CBD. You will spend your days identifying landlords, developers, and investors who need professional property management, pitching tailored service packages, and closing agreements that bring their assets under the company’s care. Beyond the initial sale, you’ll own the onboarding experience, coordinating with internal teams so that every new client starts with clear documentation, smooth site handovers, and a confident first impression of the firm’s service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify individual property owners, commercial landlords, and real estate developers across Nairobi’s target zones through cold calling, direct field visits, market intelligence, and referrals.
- Maintain a structured sales pipeline in the company’s CRM, logging every lead, follow-up, proposal, and contract conversation so that acquisition activity remains measurable and forecastable.
- Develop tailored property management proposals that outline service scopes, fee structures, and value drivers specific to each client’s asset type and income expectations.
- Negotiate commercial terms directly with property owners, addressing objections and aligning contract conditions to convert new prospects into signed management agreements.
- Serve as the primary client contact during contract execution, coordinating with facility and property operations teams to ensure a smooth handover of the building or portfolio.
- Collect and verify all documentation needed to start active management, including property titles, tenancy registers, utility records, and existing maintenance contracts.
- Conduct post-onboarding follow-ups with new clients to resolve early concerns, gather feedback, and reinforce the firm’s commitment to responsive property care.
- Build referral partnerships with real estate agents, legal practitioners, and property investors, while tracking competitor offerings and emerging development activity to spot new market opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least three years of hands-on experience in business development, field sales, or client acquisition, ideally within an established property management or real estate services firm.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing, business administration, real estate, or another business-related discipline.
- A proven track record of prospecting and converting individual landlords, developers, or institutional property owners into long-term management clients.
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen, with the confidence to discuss fee structures and contract terms with high-net-worth property stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, suited to formal pitches, executive presentations, and relationship building.
- Highly organised and target-driven, capable of working independently across multiple prospects while managing longer sales cycles without dropping follow-up quality.
