Role Overview
This position drives revenue growth by owning the full sales cycle for insurance products—from identifying prospects and preparing competitive tenders to delivering compelling quotations that convert into profitable business. The role also focuses heavily on retaining existing clients through structured service meetings, proactive relationship management, and uncovering referral opportunities that expand the company's footprint in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans for both direct clients and intermediaries, ensuring premium targets are met while protecting profit margins.
- Prepare accurate quotations and tender responses on time, using claims ratio analysis to price competitively and minimise risk exposure.
- Conduct regular client visits and service review meetings to strengthen retention, gather referrals, and surface any issues before they escalate.
- Issue policy documents promptly and correctly, following all internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Compile and submit marketing performance reports that support management decisions on pricing, product positioning, and market entry.
- Collect and share client feedback and market intelligence with internal teams to drive continuous improvement in products and service delivery.
- Coordinate with claims, underwriting, and reinsurance teams to ensure smooth handling of claims, premium collections, and treaty documentation.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing sales processes, systems, and documentation, while championing teamwork and clear communication across departments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Diploma in AIIK, ACII, or FLMI; additional qualifications in sales and marketing are a plus.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in insurance sales, client servicing, or marketing.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, policy terms, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven selling and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals at profitable rates.
- Excellent presentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to tailor solutions to client needs.
- Confident networking and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for preparing tenders, reports, and client-facing documentation.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
