Role Overview
This position sits at the intersection of operational execution and technology, supporting warehouse and transport functions by turning raw data into actionable direction. You will spend your days analysing logistics performance, shaping improvement initiatives, and partnering with IT and operations teams to ensure systems and processes keep pace with business ambitions. Your work directly influences how efficiently goods move through the network and how well the organisation adapts to shifting demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, clean, and interpret large operational datasets from warehouse and transport activities, surfacing trends, anomalies, and optimisation opportunities.
- Build and maintain performance dashboards and recurring reports that give stakeholders a clear view of KPIs such as throughput, capacity utilisation, on-time delivery, and cost per unit.
- Work alongside warehouse, transport, and planning teams to map current workflows, identify bottlenecks, and document pain points that hinder efficiency.
- Lead or support process improvement projects, quantifying expected benefits and tracking realised gains in cost, speed, or resource productivity.
- Act as the bridge between business users and IT, translating operational needs into functional requirements for system enhancements, upgrades, and new technology rollouts.
- Assess the practical impact of logistics software — including WMS, TMS, operations management suites, and analytics platforms — and recommend configuration or integration changes that align with operational goals.
- Develop demand forecasts using historical shipment data, seasonal patterns, and market intelligence, then coordinate with planning teams to align warehouse capacity and transport resources accordingly.
- Define and monitor success metrics for logistics processes, providing clear, data-backed recommendations to management for strategic and tactical decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business, supply chain management, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in operations analysis or business analysis, ideally within supply chain, warehousing, transport, logistics, or an FMCG environment.
- Hands-on familiarity with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Transportation Management (TRM), including an understanding of wall-to-wall standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP or Oracle, plus exposure to WMS, TMS, or other logistics software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn unstructured data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent organisational skills and time management, with a record of delivering accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, comfortable gathering requirements from operational teams and translating them for technical audiences.
