Job Title: Business Analyst III
Job Purpose
As a Business Analyst III, you will serve as the critical link between the business community and the IT organization. Your primary role is to translate business needs into actionable IT requirements. You will be involved as a project team member or lead in all phases of the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions—from the business case through the development life cycle. You will support one or more business functions and manage highly complex processes that may span multiple business areas. Your work ensures that technical solutions are aligned with strategic objectives and integrate smoothly with existing systems.
You will collaborate with IT professionals to determine whether solutions already exist (internally or externally) or if new solutions are needed. You will take a broad perspective to assess how these solutions affect current workflows and systems, and you will manage the integration process. You will also research and make recommendations on build vs. buy decisions.
Innovation is key: you will identify and propose technology-based business solutions. With adaptable communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business language, you will work collaboratively and negotiate requirements across multiple groups.
To succeed, you must have a solid understanding of the client’s existing business processes, key drivers and measures of business success, and the short- and long-term direction of both the business and its related technologies. A working knowledge of the business area you support, combined with strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, is essential.
