Branch Manager – Funeral Home

Location: Nakuru

Reports To: Operations Director

Industry Sector: Funeral Services

Gross Salary Structure: Kshs. 40,000

Position Context

We are seeking a deeply respectful, operationally sound Branch Manager to oversee our Nakuru facility footprint and service delivery. Your primary focus will be to standardize local workflows, coordinating everything from funeral vehicle dispatch and mortuary management to high-touch client support during bereavement care. This position bridges sensitive, high-integrity hospitality with tight administrative oversight; you will manage active branch operational budgets, lead local service teams, and cultivate reliable pipelines with healthcare providers and religious institutions. The role demands a mature, process-oriented supervisor who can comfortably balance everyday cost-control measures with absolute dignity, precision, and adherence to public health standards.

Key Responsibilities

Location Workflows & Fleet Coordination

  • Oversee all daily facility practices, ensuring seamless integration across mortuary intakes, viewings, transport fleets, and storage operations.
  • Enforce strict compliance with institutional service guidelines, maintaining a serene, organized environment across the location.
  • Track local performance data continuously, deploying operational adjustments to resolve workflow bottlenecks or delivery lags.

Care Standards & Stakeholder Alliances

  • Deliver immediate, compassionate, and highly professional counsel to grieving families navigating arrangement protocols.
  • Mediate immediate client escalations, unique service requirements, or billing inquiries with absolute empathy, discretion, and speed.
  • Establish and protect strategic long-term partnerships with local hospital administrators, medical professionals, church leaders, and community networks.

Team Leadership & Performance Care

  • Govern the local site workforce, drafting balanced duty schedules and task allocations to achieve high resource efficiency.
  • Monitor staff attendance, enforce workplace discipline standards, and implement regular objective performance reviews.
  • Conduct continuous on-the-job hospitality training, safety refreshers, and empathy-centered client care coaching for front-facing teams.

Financial Audits & Statutory Compliance

  • Manage local branch cash flows, keeping strict tabs on operational expenses to ensure alignment with approved corporate budgets.
  • Secure full accuracy across client invoicing, payment collections, and weekly financial reporting pipelines.
  • Ensure complete site compliance with local public health laws, occupational safety regulations, and legal tissue handling codes.
  • Maintain absolute security over confidential client data, while compiling detailed monthly progress summaries for executive review.

Applicant Benchmarks

Minimum Entry Criteria

  • Academic Foundation: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Operations Management, or a related service discipline.
  • Management Longevity: Minimum of 3–5 years of verified supervisory or management experience leading multi-functional operations.
  • Sector Background: Deep experience working within a hospital, healthcare facility, mortuary, funeral home, insurance firm, high-end hospitality, or matching service-heavy ecosystem is highly preferred.
  • Leadership Acuity: Demonstrated ability to build team cohesion, delegate tasks effectively, and drive service excellence.

Tactical Attributes

  • Emotional Maturity: Exceptional interpersonal sensitivity paired with the ability to maintain composure and structural control in an emotionally charged industry.
  • Process Discipline: Strong attention to detail regarding local collections balancing, data logging, and statutory safety checklists.
  • Clear Articulation: Polished verbal communication skills to coordinate easily across high-level medical partners and distressed clients.

Perks & Environment

  • Invaluable Sector Leadership: Take full command of a fundamental regional facility, refining specialized logistics and compassionate guest-relation models.
  • Community Visibility: Serve as the core institutional ambassador in Nakuru, building long-term ties with major medical networks and community leadership.
  • Operational Independence: Drive the success of an independent branch backed by the structured resources and continuous training of an established industry leader.
