Role Overview
As an attaché in the Swahilipot Hub Attachment Program, you will work directly with the hub’s core teams on ongoing projects that support Kenya’s coastal innovation ecosystem. Day to day, you’ll contribute to real initiatives, attend workshops, and assist with tasks that range from event coordination to content creation — all while building your professional network and learning what it takes to thrive in a collaborative tech and creative environment. This role matters because your work helps the hub deliver meaningful programming to the community and gives you the practical foundation for a career in the digital economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, setup, and execution of hub events, meetups, and training sessions for the local innovation community.
- Assist with digital content creation — including social media posts, blog articles, and visual assets — to promote hub activities and member stories.
- Help maintain and update the hub’s online platforms, including its website and social media channels, ensuring timely and engaging communication.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving hub services, programs, and member experience.
- Conduct basic research on industry trends, funding opportunities, and partner organizations to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide administrative support to the hub’s management team, including scheduling, documentation, and data entry tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow attachés and mentors on a capstone project that addresses a real challenge within the hub or its network.
- Document your learning journey through weekly reflections and share feedback to help improve future attachment cohorts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree program in ICT, business, communications, design, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with digital tools such as Google Workspace, social media platforms, and content management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a small team.
- Demonstrated interest in technology, entrepreneurship, or community development — evidence through coursework, projects, or volunteer work preferred.
- Reliable access to a laptop and stable internet connection for the duration of the program.
- Minimum age of 18 years and ability to commit to the full program period (7th September – 27th November 2026).
