- Draft and file pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, written submissions, legal opinions, and other court-facing documents with precision and clarity.
- Appear before courts, tribunals, arbitrators, mediators, and other dispute-resolution forums for mentions, hearings, and contested applications.
- Conduct targeted legal research to shape case strategy, assess risk, and advise clients on the most effective remedies available.
- Manage a portfolio of debt recovery matters, including issuing demand letters and statutory notices, engaging debtors, negotiating repayment terms, and monitoring compliance.
- Commence and pursue execution and recovery actions, liaising with court registries, auctioneers, process servers, and external investigators as required.
- Maintain organised case files, court diaries, limitation periods, and other deadlines, while keeping clients regularly informed of progress and outcomes.
- Prepare and review evidence, coordinate witnesses for hearings, and contribute to settlement recommendations and case strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognised university and Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
- Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practising certificate.
- At least two years of post-admission experience, ideally within a fast-paced litigation-focused law firm.
- Proven experience in civil and commercial litigation, alongside practical involvement in debt recovery and enforcement proceedings.
- Strong command of Kenyan civil procedure, evidence rules, court processes, and debt collection mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to draft pleadings, applications, submissions, opinions, and formal correspondence to a high professional standard.
- Familiarity with court e-filing platforms and case management systems.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgement, and the capacity to handle multiple matters under pressure with minimal supervision.
