Role Overview
Our client in the hospitality sector is seeking a disciplined Accounts Assistant to manage day-to-day financial operations at their Upperhill office. This position is central to maintaining the integrity of the ledger, focusing on the end-to-end management of both payables and receivables. The ideal candidate will be a CPA-qualified professional capable of handling bank reconciliations and month-end closures with high precision. Core Work Functions
Ledger Management (Payables & Receivables)

Process and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes with high accuracy.

Categorize and code all payments correctly to ensure transparency in the financial records.

Generate client invoices and execute aggressive follow-ups on overdue accounts to maintain healthy cash flow.

Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts, investigating and resolving any identified discrepancies.
Reconciliation & Data Integrity

Perform frequent bank reconciliations, matching bank statements to internal cashbook records.

Post journal entries accurately within the accounting system to facilitate real-time financial tracking.

Maintain a structured filing system for all financial documentation to ensure ease of retrieval during audits.

Identify and escalate any variances found during reconciliation for immediate resolution.
Reporting & Audit Support

Assist in the compilation of monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports.

Prepare relevant schedules and provide documentation to support both internal and external audit processes.

Facilitate month-end closing procedures by ensuring all transactions for the period are captured.
Internal Controls & Compliance

Uphold the organization’s financial policies and support the enforcement of internal controls.

Ensure all accounting practices meet the required professional standards and local regulations.

Support the implementation of efficient accounting workflows to reduce manual errors.
Skills & Experience Required
Professional Background

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.

Certification: CPA Part IV or higher is mandatory for this role.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a high-volume accounting environment.

Systems: Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems, alongside advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables and formulas).
