Accountant – F&B / Hospitality

Role Overview

This accountant will manage day-to-day financial records for a food and beverage or hospitality operation in Abu Dhabi, covering transactions from supplier invoices and customer receipts through to stock costs and reporting. Accurate reconciliations, VAT work, and food-cost monitoring will help the business understand its financial position and control operational spending.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, keeping supporting records complete and accurate.
• Prepare UAE VAT filings and maintain documentation needed to support tax compliance.
• Reconcile bank accounts and supplier balances, investigate differences, and follow up on unresolved items.
• Track inventory movements and stock records, and carry out regular reconciliations and valuations.
• Review food costs, wastage, and operating variances to identify discrepancies for investigation.
• Assist with month-end close, including checking balances and preparing financial reports.
• Maintain organised accounting documentation and reliable financial data.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience in food and beverage, hospitality, restaurants, cafés, hotels, or a comparable operation is essential.
• Experience with UAE accounting practices is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, payables and receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Practical knowledge of UAE VAT filing, inventory valuation, food-cost monitoring, wastage, and variance analysis.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Careful and organised, with the ability to manage financial tasks in a fast-paced operating environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related discipline is indicated.
