Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and reliable Accountant to undertake key accounting tasks and ensure that all financial transactions—from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets—are well managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions and prepare budget forecasts.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Plan cash flow and reconcile the petty cash account.
- Ensure timely bank payment transactions.
- Prepare and manage balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other financial reports; publish financial statements on time.
- Report on the company's financial health and liquidity status.
- Ensure audit readiness, audit all financial transactions, and maintain proper documentation.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
- Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with e-Tims.
- Review, post, and recommend modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures.
- Handle member accounts invoicing, receipting, and reconciling.
- Manage debts, expenses, and budgets.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure all expenses are approved as per the budget set.
- Process payments to various vendors and ensure withholding tax is deducted as per the law.
- Keep updated member records.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the CEO/Executive Directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance or Accounting option) or related degree/diploma.
- Must possess at least CPA Part II qualification.
- At least three (3) years' working experience in a finance office.
- Accounting software knowledge and experience, and understanding of accounting standards and tax laws.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Zoho Books or Odoo.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services is an added advantage.
