Role Overview
This role sits at the heart of an agency team, turning complex public affairs and finance topics into digital content that resonates with East African audiences. Day to day, you will shape video-led storytelling, manage social channels, and translate research into practical content plans that help clients meet their communication goals. Working closely with the Group Account Director and account managers, you will ensure every piece of content is purposeful, measurable, and aligned with the client’s broader strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day management of client social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, and Facebook, ensuring a consistent, engaging presence.
- Produce a range of digital formats—short-form videos, infographics, podcasts, and e-shots—that turn dense policy, legal, and financial topics into accessible stories.
- Research client-related themes and industry developments to uncover fresh angles and new material for storytelling.
- Write sharp, audience-focused copy for social posts and campaign assets that capture attention and drive engagement.
- Build and maintain a social media calendar that curates content across platforms, aligning with campaign timelines and client priorities.
- Implement and track integrated connection plans spanning digital, TV, print, and radio against agreed KPIs, then report on performance.
- Analyse audience reactions and content metrics to identify emerging opportunities that can be turned into growth strategies for clients.
- Support relationships with content partners and platform representatives, ensuring campaign activations comply with guidelines and deliver maximum return on investment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience with strong digital content and research skills.
- 2–3 years of experience in an agency, marketing, or communications environment, with a clear understanding of integrated campaign delivery.
- Proven ability to translate business, financial, legal, policy, or technical information into clear, engaging digital content.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present ideas and appear on camera when needed.
- Familiarity with digital content technologies and platforms relevant to East Africa, including social media management tools and analytics.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing stakeholder expectations and delivering quality under tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of public policy, public affairs, finance, and law, and how these topics shape audience perceptions.
- Ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams and contribute to client presentations with insight-driven recommendations.
