Role Overview
You will drive revenue from East Africa's only HP Indigo B2 digital press, a machine that lets clients produce high-quality, short-run prints with variable data and personalisation — capabilities no other Kenyan printer can match. Day to day, you'll hunt for new business across corporates, agencies, NGOs, and packaging buyers, educating them on why digital print now offers a viable, often superior alternative to offset. Your success directly unlocks the commercial potential of a major capital investment, making you a critical driver of growth for a 650-person, ISO-certified print business.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a sales pipeline from scratch, targeting FMCG brands, banks, SACCOs, insurance firms, NGOs, creative agencies, publishers, and SMEs.
- Prospect actively through cold outreach, networking at industry events, and leveraging existing contacts in Nairobi's corporate and agency community.
- Educate first-time digital print buyers on the advantages of B2 format, variable data, short runs, and fast turnaround versus conventional offset printing.
- Prepare and present tailored proposals, using physical print samples to demonstrate quality and application possibilities.
- Manage the full sales cycle: from lead generation and initial briefing to quoting, negotiation, closing, and post-sale account management.
- Collaborate with pre-press and production teams to ensure each client brief is technically feasible and deliverable on time.
- Maintain accurate pipeline data in the CRM and provide weekly updates to the Head of Sales.
- Gather market intelligence on competitor activity, emerging client needs, and new digital print applications to inform business strategy.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–6 years of B2B field sales experience with a documented history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- A consultative, hunter mindset — you listen to client needs, then build a compelling solution rather than pushing a standard product.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, comfortable pitching in both boardroom and plant-floor settings.
- An existing network within Nairobi's corporate, agency, or SME sectors is a significant advantage.
- Exposure to print, marketing, design, or technology industries is highly valued, though not mandatory.
- Self-starter who can work independently, manage own schedule, and persist through a new-territory ramp-up period.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
