Dentist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dentist to diagnose, prevent, and treat oral health conditions. The successful candidate will improve patients’ dental hygiene and overall well-being by performing routine check-ups, restorative procedures, and educating patients on proper oral care. This role requires a commitment to high-quality clinical practice and patient-centered service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of oral health conditions, including caries, periodontal disease, and oral infections.
  • Perform routine dental examinations, cleanings, and preventive care procedures.
  • Carry out restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff to deliver seamless patient care.
  • Stay current with developments in dentistry and apply best practices in treatment.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from a recognized university.
  • Registered and with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • At least one year of post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

Desirable Competencies

  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the laws of Kenya, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
