Job Description

Program Coordinator – Health, Research & Capacity Strengthening

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Program Coordinator to support the implementation and coordination of fellowship programs, leadership development initiatives, research training programs, and innovation ecosystem activities. The role will contribute to diverse global health and public health research efforts, including implementation science, women’s health, adolescent health, and related thematic areas. The ideal candidate will have strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, with experience in multicultural, multidisciplinary, and geographically dispersed teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and coordination of fellowship programs, leadership development initiatives, research training programs, and innovation ecosystem activities.
  • Contribute to program activities related to global health, public health research, implementation science, women's health, adolescent health, and other related thematic areas.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support the delivery of conferences, workshops, immersion programs, and high-level stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist in grant management processes, proposal development, donor engagement, and preparation of donor reports.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication with international partners and stakeholders across diverse cultural and geographical settings.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) to support program operations and communication.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, technical reports, briefing materials, meeting minutes, and other program documentation.
  • Manage and utilize project management and collaboration platforms to support program planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance productivity, content development, research support, communications, and workflow optimization.
  • Maintain program trackers, databases, records, and other data management systems to ensure accurate and timely information management.
  • Coordinate and support virtual meetings, webinars, and online learning activities using relevant digital platforms.

Qualifications and Requirements

Mandatory

  • Education: Medical Doctor (MBChB) preferred. Candidates with a Master’s degree or currently in training in Public Health, Global Health, Health Systems, Epidemiology, Clinical Research, Health Management, or a related field will have an added advantage.
  • Registration: Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in health, public health, research, clinical programs, project management, or study coordination roles.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-stakeholder programs, research projects, fellowships, training programs, or capacity-strengthening initiatives.
  • Experience supporting program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Previous experience working with academic institutions, research organizations, government agencies, donors, or international partners is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in multicultural, multidisciplinary, and geographically dispersed teams.
