Member who is an Alim

Applicants must:
- be an alim who is well-versed in Islamic jurisprudence;
- hold a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies, or an equivalent qualification;
- have a least fifteen (15) years experience as a muslim religious scholar; and
- meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
TERMS OF SERVICE
- Members of the Commission shall serve on part time basis and shall hold office for a period of five years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one further term of five years.
- Members of the Commission will be paid such allowances as the Commission may, in consultation with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, determine.
HOW TO APPLY

A completed application form available at the Office of the Attorney General’s website: www.statelaw.go.ke;
A detailed curriculum vitae; and
Copies of:
- National Identity Card;
- Academic and professional certificates and transcripts;
- Certificates of good standing with relevant professional bodies, where applicable;
- Testimonials and other relevant supporting documents;
- 3 years audited accounts for applicants as businesspersons or entrepreneurs; and
- Certificate of recognition for academic and professional qualifications obtained from foreign institutions, where applicable.

NOTE TO APPLICANTS
A list of shortlisted candidates will be published and the shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of the documents in Clause 5(c) above together with the following documents during interviews:-
- Duly filled and stamped self declaration clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and,
- Valid and current clearance certificates from:
- Kenya Revenue Authority – Tax Compliance Certificate;
- The Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
- A Credit Reference Bureau; and
- Higher Education Loans Board.
