Job Description
About the role
- Strathmore School is seeking a qualified and passionate Mathematics and Science & Technology teacher to join its Lower Primary team. The successful candidate will teach Mathematics as the primary subject, alongside Science and Technology, to learners in Grade 1 to Grade 3.
- We are looking for someone who combines strong subject knowledge with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young learners and the ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics and Science & Technology lessons for Grade 1 to Grade 3 learners.
- Design and implement learning activities aligned with the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
- Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely feedback to support growth.
- Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, performance, and development.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support learner wellbeing and achievement.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Essential qualifications & experience
- Relevant teaching qualification, with Mathematics as a primary specialism.
- Valid TSC (Teachers Service Commission) registration or eligibility to register.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated competence and passion for teaching
Desirable
- Prior experience teaching at Lower Primary level (Grade 1 to Grade 3).
- Familiarity with the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) framework.
