Job Description

Role Overview

This role brings wellbeing to life in a remote safari setting, blending movement, mindfulness, and spa therapies into every guest's stay. Day to day, you’ll lead group yoga and meditation, guide outdoor activities that connect guests with nature, and deliver personalised spa treatments—all while working alongside the culinary team to reinforce healthy dining. Your work directly shapes the restorative, immersive experience that sets this lodge apart, turning a safari holiday into a holistic journey for body and mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead one-on-one and group sessions in yoga, Pilates, stretching, meditation, and guided breathwork, adapting each practice to the guest’s energy and goals.
  • Plan and facilitate cycling trails and outdoor wellness activities that encourage guests to explore the landscape through movement.
  • Perform professional massage therapy and holistic spa treatments, tailoring techniques and product selection to individual preferences and wellness objectives.
  • Conduct initial wellness consultations to assess each guest’s needs, then recommend a personalised schedule of activities, treatments, and nutritional adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and F&B team to ensure menu selections align with wellness principles, offering guidance on balanced, nourishing choices.
  • Maintain a serene, inclusive atmosphere in all wellness spaces, proactively addressing guest comfort and adjusting programming to foster relaxation.
  • Inspect and sanitise treatment rooms, fitness equipment, and outdoor activity gear daily, upholding rigorous cleanliness and safety protocols.
  • Build genuine rapport with guests through attentive service, remembering preferences and following up on their wellbeing journey throughout their stay.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Certification in Yoga, Pilates, Personal Training, or Wellness Coaching from a recognised body (minimum 200-hour yoga training or equivalent).
  • Professional qualification in massage therapy, spa therapies, or holistic wellness (e.g., ITEC, CIBTAC, or similar).
  • At least three years of hands-on experience delivering wellness, fitness, spa, or holistic health services in a luxury hospitality, retreat, or destination spa environment.
  • Solid understanding of nutrition principles and the ability to translate healthy lifestyle practices into practical guest recommendations.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
  • Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages such as French, German, or Portuguese are a strong plus.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, public holidays, and early mornings as the safari schedule demands.
  • Warm, guest-focused demeanour with the intuition to read individual needs and adjust programming on the fly.
  • Comfortable living and working in a remote, close-knit team environment with limited access to urban amenities.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is an opportunity to work in a stunning natural setting where your wellbeing expertise directly enhances extraordinary safari experiences. You’ll join a small, passionate team that values genuine connection, creative freedom, and a shared commitment to guest transformation.
