Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, tech-focused Website Developer Intern to support the expansion and maintenance of our digital web platforms. Your primary objective is to assist in the daily management of our WordPress infrastructure, ensuring all landing pages, corporate blogs, and service themes remain fully functional, secure, and responsive across all devices. This position bridges foundational front-end coding with active content management; you will collaborate with creative teams to implement visual banners, optimize site performance metrics, and troubleshoot theme errors. The role demands an ambitious, detail-driven graduate or student who has practical knowledge of WordPress layout configurations and wants to advance their backend engineering capabilities inside a fast-paced environment.

Areas of Accountability

Web Development & Theme Tuning

• Assist engineering leads in deploying, updating, and formatting web pages using the WordPress content management system.
• Support the customization of platform themes and layouts to match precise corporate brand aesthetics and design guidelines.
• Verify structural responsiveness across all localized sites, checking layout behaviors on mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports.
• Run routine updates across core system modules, standard widgets, media galleries, and operational system configurations.

Platform Security & Speed Optimization

• Monitor operational site performance metrics, tracking loading times, server uptimes, and database response lags.
• Execute scheduled system backups and download security patches to defend web infrastructure against malicious traffic.
• Support the deployment of foundational Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tagging, alt-text adjustments, and metadata setups.
• Document emerging technical errors, broken links, or style distortions, escalating complex bugs to senior developers.

Content Coordination & Visual Support

• Upload, format, and launch promotional landing pages, technical blog articles, and dynamic graphic banners for marketing runs.
• Coordinate closely with UX/UI designers to ensure layout conversions match initial visual prototypes precisely.
• Audit seasonal promo links and custom form collection captures regularly to guarantee error-free user acquisition pathways.
• Maintain clean media file directories, compressing image assets to minimize unnecessary load footprints on web servers.

Technical Support & Documentation

• Aid internal business departments by resolving minor access errors, formatting bugs, or tool configuration problems.
• Test new third-party plugins and API integrations inside staging sandboxes before running updates on live environments.
• Record comprehensive logs tracking completed site modifications, plugin integrations, and weekly performance adjustments.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

• Academic Foundation: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a matching technical discipline.
• Core Systems Mastery: Deep functional understanding of WordPress CMS infrastructure, menu layouts, block editors, and widget frameworks.
• Technical Coding Bases: Basic, functional knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP is a highly valued advantage for handling style tweaks.
• Infrastructure Familiarity: Basic understanding of domain setups, standard cPanel environments, and fundamental SEO principles.
