Role Overview

This academic position focuses on designing and delivering a dynamic curriculum that blends theory with practical application. On a daily basis, the role involves preparing teaching materials, facilitating lectures and field activities, and assessing student progress across both campus-based and online platforms. The lecturer also drives the university’s research agenda by publishing scholarly work, mentoring student researchers, and contributing to departmental governance, all of which directly support the institution’s mission to produce competent graduates.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and refine the curriculum by reviewing course outlines and creating detailed lesson plans aligned with program goals.
• Prepare learning resources for contact sessions and digital delivery, including handouts, multimedia aids, and laboratory guides.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies—such as group exercises, fieldwork, lab experiments, and out-of-class assignments—to engage students and reinforce course content.
• Design assessment frameworks that measure learning outcomes through tests, projects, and continuous evaluation.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research, internships, and laboratory work, providing guidance on methodology and analysis.
• Conduct original research in a specialised area, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and books, and seek external funding through grant proposals and collaborative projects.
• Advise students on academic progress, career pathways, and personal development during scheduled office hours and informal interactions.
• Represent the department at academic conferences, industry workshops, seminars, and market outreach visits, and take on administrative duties related to field operations and program management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A PhD in a discipline directly relevant to the program domain (or a Master’s degree with confirmed PhD candidacy at final data‑collection stage).
• At least three years of professional experience in the relevant industry sector.
• Strong communication skills for lecturing, publishing, and stakeholder engagement.
• Well‑developed interpersonal abilities to collaborate with colleagues, students, and external partners.
• Proven organisational and planning skills to manage multiple teaching, research, and administrative priorities.
• Demonstrated research competence, including a record of completing studies, writing proposals, and disseminating results.
