Role Overview
This position is accountable for driving revenue growth across the retail healthcare portfolio, covering both small and medium enterprise clients and family or individual health plans, by expanding the reach of the company's products through third-party distribution networks. Day to day, the role combines direct sales development with relationship management for brokers, agents, and other intermediaries, ensuring that new business and renewal targets are consistently met. The success of this role directly shapes the business unit's market presence and its ability to deliver quality healthcare solutions through a well-supported, compliant partner network.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new and renewal retail health insurance sales to meet individual and SME revenue targets, proactively tracking performance against assigned goals.
- Build and expand a productive network of brokers, agents, and other intermediaries by introducing the company's healthcare products to both existing and prospective distribution partners.
- Identify emerging growth opportunities within SME and family or individual health segments, converting market insights into actionable sales strategies.
- Coordinate product and process training for intermediaries so that they can confidently communicate the company's offerings to end customers.
- Support marketing campaigns aimed at potential buyers, ensuring alignment with broader retail sales objectives and audience needs.
- Act as a point of escalation for intermediary and client queries, resolving issues in collaboration with relevant internal teams to maintain high service satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, company policies, and credit procedures while facilitating premium collection in a timely manner.
- Collect and relay market feedback on competitor activity, customer preferences, and emerging trends to healthcare operations teams to support service improvements and profitable product growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in insurance, marketing, business, or a related field.
- A Certificate of Insurance (COP) or demonstrated progress toward AIIK, ACII, or a postgraduate diploma in a relevant discipline such as CIM.
- At least two years of insurance sales experience, with specific focus on healthcare or medical insurance products.
- Strong understanding of healthcare insurance products for both SME and individual or family segments, including policy features, underwriting principles, and claims processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with intermediaries, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong business relationships based on trust and professionalism.
- High levels of motivation, a results-oriented approach, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a target-driven environment.
