Role Overview
This role centres on driving revenue growth within the retail healthcare insurance segment, specifically focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises as well as individual and family health plans. You will be responsible for expanding the company’s distribution network by engaging intermediaries such as brokers and agents, while also ensuring existing partners remain active and productive. The position combines sales execution, relationship management, training support, and market intelligence to strengthen the company's position in the healthcare insurance space.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed revenue targets for new business and renewals across SME and individual or family healthcare product lines.
- Proactively present the company’s healthcare insurance solutions to prospective and existing intermediaries, and recruit new intermediaries to match agreed growth plans.
- Build and sustain long-term commercial relationships with brokers, agents, and other distribution partners to secure a steady flow of business and repeat renewals.
- Identify untapped opportunities within the SME and personal health insurance markets and convert them into actionable sales strategies.
- Design and deliver product and process training sessions for intermediaries to ensure they are equipped to sell accurately and effectively.
- Coordinate marketing campaigns aimed at end customers, ensuring alignment with the overall retail business objectives and intermediary activity.
- Monitor premium collections to ensure payments are received within the company's credit timelines, and escalate issues when needed.
- Collect and relay market feedback to healthcare operations teams so that product development and service delivery remain competitive and customer-focused.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis to track competitor movements, customer preferences, and emerging trends that could affect retail healthcare sales.
- Resolve queries and complaints raised by intermediaries and policyholders regarding product features, claims processes, and administrative procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in insurance sales, with a strong preference for backgrounds in healthcare or medical cover products.
- Solid understanding of healthcare insurance products, including policy structures, underwriting basics, claims cycles, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as insurance, marketing, or commerce.
- Relevant professional certifications including COP, or demonstrable progress toward AIIK, ACII, or CIM qualifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear presentations to intermediaries and clients.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, combined with a customer-first service approach.
- Proven ability to build trust with external partners and maintain consistent follow-through on commitments.
- Self-driven, target-oriented work ethic with the resilience to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards and strict adherence to insurance industry regulations and company policies.
