Role Overview
As the Accounting Manager within our hospitality operation, you will own the end-to-end financial function, from daily transaction processing to month-end close, ensuring the books are always accurate, transparent, and audit-ready. Your reports and analyses will directly guide our leadership team in budgeting, pricing, and investment decisions, while your supervision of the finance team keeps every ledger reconciled and every control in place. The role operates at the centre of our property's financial health, balancing the fast‑paced nature of guest revenue with the discipline of statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance for the property.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, delivering timely financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports to senior leadership.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections, flagging risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
- Oversee daily revenue reconciliation from front desk, food and beverage, and event sales, investigating any discrepancies with department heads.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations, statutory filings, and internal accounting policies, while coordinating external audits and providing all requested documentation.
- Supervise and mentor a small finance team, delegating tasks, reviewing work, and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal controls.
- Analyse cost structures and operational spending across departments, recommending efficiencies and supporting capital expenditure proposals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA certification is strongly preferred.
- At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including two or more years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Previous exposure to the hospitality sector is an added advantage, with familiarity in PMS and hotel accounting systems considered a plus.
- Deep working knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting techniques, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with both finance and operational teams.
- Demonstrated integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail, with a track record of meeting tight deadlines.
