Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team in a fully remote role. This position is designed for early-career accounting professionals who want to strengthen their technical skills while gaining exposure to the complete accounting cycle.
The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Controller and support activities including month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, tax compliance, and ERP systems. This opportunity offers a flexible four-day workweek, professional mentorship, and the chance to build a strong foundation for long-term accounting career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare journal entries and record bank transactions accurately.
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, and allocations.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and accounting compliance activities.
• Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• NetSuite experience is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a remote work environment.
• Strong knowledge of:
• General ledger accounting.
• Financial reporting and audit support.
• ERP systems and accounting software.
