Job Description

Role Overview

This role centers on field-based relationship management with mobile money agents and small-scale store owners, ensuring they have the stock, tools, and know-how to drive SIM activations and float transactions. By executing beat plans, training partners on compliance processes, and maintaining strong merchandising at point of sale, the representative directly supports the company's agent network growth and transaction volume targets. Day to day, you will be on the road visiting assigned outlets, troubleshooting operational issues, and building trust with independent retailers to keep the ecosystem running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and onboard new mobile money agents and small-store operators at high-traffic retail locations, while keeping an accurate map of the assigned territory.
  • Follow a regularly updated beat plan to visit all agents and store owners within the territory, ensuring consistent face-to-face engagement and support.
  • Deliver on-site training to agents and store owners on transaction procedures, float management, and the proper use of point-of-sale tools provided by the company.
  • Coach agents on anti-money laundering (AML) requirements and train store owners on the full know-your-customer (KYC) process for SIM registration.
  • Monitor agent float levels and enforce the minimum stock rule (e.g., 1.5x coverage), while ensuring store owners maintain sufficient SIM card inventory for new activations.
  • Maintain visibility standards by placing and refreshing merchandising materials at every outlet, including signage, brochures, and promotional displays.
  • Track daily sales performance and stock levels, reporting any gaps or risks to the area sales manager for timely intervention.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • At least one year of experience in a sales or distribution role within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company or a telecommunications firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with independent retailers and agents through regular field visits.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with comfort in one-on-one coaching and compliance conversations.
  • Analytical mindset to monitor stock levels, sales data, and agent performance against targets.
  • Customer-focused approach, able to adapt training and support to different levels of digital literacy among agents.
