Job Description

Role Overview

This is a field-based commercial role with full ownership of sales performance across the Isiolo territory. Working at the intersection of technical product knowledge and route-to-market execution, the Technical Sales Representative translates regional strategy into practical, everyday action — supporting distributors and retail outlets, running field demonstrations, and making sure customers get both the products and the advice they need. Success in this position directly shapes the company's market share, brand strength and revenue growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of all sales activity in the Isiolo region, from daily territory operations to hitting the periodic revenue and volume targets set for the area.
  • Translate regional and company objectives into clear territory plans, and communicate those plans so that targets are understood and met.
  • Handle distributor accounts end to end — orders, invoicing, credit terms, outstanding debt and stock levels — in line with agreed contracts and account agreements.
  • Identify, recruit and onboard new distributors, stockists and outlets, while strengthening relationships with existing customers to expand share of market and brand equity.
  • Drive Result Demonstration Plot (RDP) activities as the core market-development tool, ensuring strong brand visibility, on-time product distribution and full portfolio availability at every outlet.
  • Keep a close watch on competitor pricing, promotions and activity, and put forward practical strategies to defend and grow the territory's position.
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date customer database and submit weekly route plans, sales performance updates, demand forecasts and market intelligence reports.
  • Manage the regional collection and promotional budgets, and comply with the company's asset care standards for assigned vehicles and motorcycles, including participation in regional meetings and any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Animal Health, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a closely related discipline.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience within the industry.
  • A demonstrated track record in distributor management and route-to-market models.
  • Valid driver's licence with a minimum of two (2) years' driving experience.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and organisational skills.
  • High level of integrity and a self-driven approach, with the initiative to work productively with limited supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and remain away from home for extended periods.
