Job Description

Role Overview

This is a full classroom teaching post for an experienced, TSC-registered educator who will take responsibility for one class's learning journey from planning through to assessment and reporting. Day to day, the role combines direct teaching with differentiated lesson design, record-keeping, behaviour and attendance oversight, and regular contact with parents about how their children are progressing. The school is looking for someone who treats character formation, skills development and academic attainment as equally important, and who can carry the school's ethos into every part of the working week while collaborating closely with the Principal, fellow teachers and classroom support staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and teach an assigned class across the curriculum, differentiating tasks so that students with differing learning and social needs can all make progress.
  • Set clear learning targets grounded in each student's prior attainment, and keep efficient records that weave formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning.
  • Build a stimulating classroom environment in which resources are organised and genuinely accessible to every student, and direct the support staff who work alongside you in that room.
  • Report to parents on their children's development, progress and attainment, and maintain constructive working relationships with families.
  • Uphold the school's behaviour policy by maintaining good order and discipline, and ensure students attend promptly and regularly — escalating any absence to the Principal or Deputy Principal without delay.
  • Implement agreed school policies and support curriculum, administration and organisational initiatives introduced by the Principal, including participation in the meetings where those decisions are made.
  • Carry out supervisory duties, attend staff meetings and seminars, and contribute to co-curricular and out-of-school activities when the school calendar requires it.
  • Take part in the school's performance management process, help build a cooperative team culture among teaching and non-teaching staff, and always present a professional image through conduct and dress.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (Education option) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institution.
  • Current registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  • At least five years of teaching experience in a recognised school, including demonstrated Cambridge curriculum experience.
  • Sound understanding of current educational issues as they relate to your specialist subject area.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to team spirit.
  • Confidence and skill in teaching a diverse student body.
  • Self-driven approach and a real willingness to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower students.
  • Commitment to upholding the school's values in all professional interactions.

Why Join

You will work within a values-led school community where classroom teachers sit at the centre of decision-making, contributing to curriculum, management and organisational discussions alongside the Principal. The role offers structured professional engagement through the school's performance management system, staff seminars and co-curricular events, and the chance to lead support staff and shape how students are taught, assessed and reported on.
